Holiday Tips, whats in my beach bag?

Hola,

In 12 days I will be landing in Sunny Spain with my lovely boyfriend for a week of sunbathing and cocktails :).
It can't come soon enough if you ask me!

So what to I put in my beach bag
This lovely beach bag was of a market in Goa I believe it was the Baga Night Market but don't quote me on that. What I do know is it was 300Rupees which is around £3.50.
I also carry a towel, usually an Itsa which is a beach towel that folds into a bag with lots of zippy compartments for security. The towel in the picture is just a normal pink beach towel as my Itsa is in the wash (I love fresh washed towels).
I apologise for the sideways photo some reason it wont let me change it!
Sooo here it goes:
- Suncream
- Lip SPF
- A good beachy read I love the I Heart... series by Lindsey Kelk
- A spare bikini (far too many bikinis have broken on me!)
- A beach cover up for when the sun gets too much for my fair skin!
- Leave in Condition (this Aussie one smells amazing) for when I've been in the water.
- Hairbrush
- A hair clip to keep my hair out of the salt water as much as I can!

We usually have a bottle of water too and a few euros for a sunbed and an ice cream!

What do you guys have in your beach bag?

Much Love,
Daisy

Long Time No Post...

Hello,

I more than apologise for my long absence but things have been pretty mad for me lately and I wanted to put my all into other things, but now I'm back I'm not going to be promising a post a day but when I feel I want to post I'll be posting, that way they wont be boring mundane posts.

I am celebrating though as I got into college yesterday so starting the 11th September I'll be a trainee hairdresser so expect some hair themed posts :).

Holiday Tips - Opening your mind to traveling?!

Hola!

Once again a very very delayed post but this last week I've had has been mental, ant infestations are the least of the issues I've had. Many apologies, I can only hope you will accept :).

These tips are different to my organisational ones. I did have a whats in my hand luggage post planned, but it occurred to me how hard I found adjusting to seeing new things in India and the idea of travelling. Something that was a massive factor in my experience was that I get very homesick.

The first tip I could give anyone is don't go into a 3rd world country and think your prepared for what your going to see. I thought I'd be fine I was so excited for this amazing experience however we managed 1 day before I wanted to book a flight home! We landed on a Friday and it took me until Monday to relax and actually want to be there, after that I didn't want to come home.

Look beyond the poverty, look at the smiles on there faces they are happy and most of them are happier than most of us!

Don't be scared of what your going to see, it will be one of the best experiences and lessons you will ever learn in your life.

Do what the locals do! Don't be a tourist, by all means ride an elephant and do the once in a life time things! But don't be scared to explore!

Don't be ignorant, ask them about there lives, buy the children a chocolate bar or a can of pop, they will love you to bits for it and appreciate it more than money!

Don't be naive, yes they are poor but some of them are sneaky and will abuse good nature.

Take extra shampoo and clothes you don't mind leaving and give them to the locals and they will really appreciate it! I gave a woman a bottle of herbal essences shampoo and she acted as if I'd given her £1000. The feeling you have helped will make you feel amazing!

I have only spent 2 weeks in Goa, India however I can not wait to travel some more I want to see everything and everywhere!

Let me know if you'd like to here more about my trip to India :)

Much Love,
Daisy

OPI Lust

When it comes to nail polish I cant hide my love for a good old OPI or Essie nail polish. Lately there has been two collections I have been lusting over and cant wait to treat myself to the mini collections.

The first I've been looking at is the Vintage Minnie Collection.
The mini Minnie's :) has 3 lovely colours, 2 shades of pink and a lovely mini mouse red and a bonus top coat.
From left to right: If you moust you moust (a girly barbie pink), The colour of Minnie (Minnie mouse red), I'm all Ears (a lovely hot pink) & OPI Top Coat.
Vintage Minnie Mini set is £12.95 and available on ASOS.

The only colour not included in this mini set is Nothin' Mousie Bout It which is a gorgeous glitter full of pink heart confetti.
This for me is the one I really want out of the collection. However its only available in full size and is £11.00 available on ASOS.

The second collection I am excited to get is the New York City Ballet Collection.
This is a collection of beautiful pastel shades, that really really remind me of a pair of ballet shoes.
From left to right: My Pointe Exactly (a soft silver), Dont Touch My Tutu(a beautiful cream), Care To Danse (a soft lilac) and Pirouette My Whistle (a finely milled glitter).

What nail polishes do you like?

Clinique Sample

The other day I treat myself to a little retail therapy. Whilst I was in my local Boots perusing the Real Techniques brushes (more about them soon) I was approached by a woman from the Clinique counter asking me if I wanted to be matched up to a foundation and take away a 5 day sample. As I'm still trying to find the perfect foundation I jumped at the chance.

I was sat at the counter around 5-10 minutes answering questions on my skin and also looking at different foundations and the feels of them. She talked me through what each foundation would do for my skin and then found 3 shades for me to choose from, all of which were pretty similar to my skin.

I was matched up to the shade 24 Linen and I chose the Even Better foundation which the assistant told me would be excellent for covering up my red areas around my nose. It's medium to full coverage and is buildable. It has SPF 15 which I like, as I am pretty pale I always look out for foundations with built in SPF.
So far I am happy with this foundation but I will update you guys soon :).

Take advantage most counters will be happy to give you samples :) If you don't ask you never get.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Review

I picked up a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the colour Lovesick a few weeks back now. I grabbed mine while it was on offer at boots for £5.99 and I believe they are still on offer. If not the full price is £7.99.

I was a little dubious about this product as I didn't understand how a stain could also be a balm.
It has a really minty smell to it and is very very moisturising.
This was taken just after applying it. As you can see it is very pigmented and really glossy looking which I like. I also love that although it looks shiny it isn't sticky or slimy feeling.
I love the pop of colour this product gives my make up and I feel it looks really summery and bright with out being too over the top.

Does it live up to its Stain title I hear you ask?
Yes!
I applied this at about 7pm before I went to the pub on Saturday night and didn't have to top up at all throughout the night. When I woke up the next day my lips were still stained a light pink.

I absolutely adore this product and will buy some more even at full price as I believe they are well worth the money!

August Glossy Box

This morning my August Glossy Box arrived on my doorstep and I was really quite excited.
I unboxed it all an the card said it was the 'international superstars' box full of products from around the world. However the products I received I wasn't super excited about.

I did get 6 products 5 of which were full size however I wouldn't call them 'high end' products.
(L-R)
England - Lipcote 'The original lipstick sealer' Full Size £3.99
I have briefly tried this and it seems to wipe quite abut of my lipstick off whilst applying. I will give it another go though.

GlossyBox Lipstick in Glossy Pink Full Size £9.50
This is a lovely pink colour that I would wear so I am quite happy with this and I'm looking forward to wearing it.
Spain - Vera Valenti L'ombre a Paupiere Maragarita Full Size £3.85
Honestly this reminds me of the make up you buy children you know the cheap play make up? I'm really not excited by this at all :/ sorry guys.
(L-R)
Germany - Alessandro Pro White Full size £7.85
'A brightening effect Nail Polish with anti yellowing formula'
I didn't completely understand this product until I tried it out and I really like how shiny and healthy my nails look with this on!

All for Eve Eve's Balm Full Size £4.95
A nourishing balm for dry chapped skin.
I don't think I'll get much use from this until the winter and I'm not a massive fan of the scent.
Korea - DHC Deep Cleansing Oil 30ml (Full Size 200ml £18.50)
I don't really like using oils on my face but I'm looking forward to trying it out and seeing how it goes.

What did you guys think to this months Glossy Box?
I think last months was better but I still like this months.

Much Love,
Daisy

BONUS Holiday Tips - Worlds Lightest Suitcase???

Because I've been such a rubbish blogger lately I thought I'd do an additional post and why not a Holiday Tips?

Ok so most airlines boast a 20kg sometimes 23kg weight limit which is great, but did you know most average suitcases weigh 3.5 - 5kg before you even put anything into it! I didn't until I was shopping in my local matalan and came across the 'Worlds Lightest Suitcase'.

Sub 0 G or Sub 0 G Generation 2 / IT 0 G or IT 0 G Generation 2 are a range of suitcases that claim to be the worlds lightest.

The first one I picked up was the large as I tend to have a bad habit of buying things on holiday and coming back with double what I went with.
*
I have the black one and it was £50.00 which isn't cheap but considering it comes with a 10 year guarantee isn't too bad. It's made of 'ultra strong' fibre glass despite having a soft body and so far has lasted me 5 years and is only just showing signs of wear and tear (but is still as strong as ever). It is very spacious and weights only 2.3 kg before packing clothes into it, considering my old suitcase was medium and far smaller that this one and weight 4.5kg I'm pretty impressed by the sub 0 G range.

The dimensions of the case are 84.5cm x 52cm x 29.5cm inc wheels and handles (External)
76cm x 50cm x 26.5cm (Internal) *

After being so impressed by the one I already had I then picked up the cabin sized case.

*
I grabbed this turquoise for my hand luggage as my boyfriend will most likely end up carrying it and I'm not sure hes a lover of pink. This one was £35.00 again a little pricey but if it lasts as long as the bigger one I will be very happy :).
Again this is made of fibre glass and is very spacious. Also with a 10 year guarantee.
This weighs just 1.52 kg before I put anything inside it.

The dimensions of the case are 56.5cm x 36cm x 21cm inc wheels and handles (External)
49cm x 34cm x 18cm (Internal)*

Anyone considering buying these cases?
I would seriously recommend them especially for 2 week holidays or long haul flights.

Much Love,
Daisy

Delayed Holiday Tips - Holiday Shopping

Hello There,
Long time no see, I have been missing more than I expected and I am really sorry for not keeping up with posts but hopefully I'm back with out distractions :).

So on with my super delayed holiday post. Today is shopping for holiday clothes and supplies etc etc...

Clothes...
- Don't splash out for expensive beachwear it's only going to get ruined by suncream.
- Avoid white clothing again its only going to get ruined by suncream.
- Shop to the climate don't buy thick trousers if your going to a hot country and again don't buy shorts to go ski-ing :) but then again that's common sense.
- I try to keep in mind my luggage weight limit don't go buying heavy clothing as you'll end up with two outfits to wear, or paying a fortune on overweight luggage.
- Also think about what your buying you can change an outfit up with accessories or a different top you might not need 7 different day outfits and 7 different night outfits.
- Shoes? I never really buy heels to take on holiday maybe the odd pair of wedges but full blown heels never seem to be comfortable in the heat.  I usually take flip flops for the day and then dressy sandals for the evening.

Toiletries...
- Look in bargain stores for suncream. I use Piz Buin and in boots can be anything from £12-£20 a bottle however in my local B&M Bargains I found it for £4.99.
- Dont get sucked into buying travel size some times there almost as expensive as the full size, I usually nip to a pound shop or Primark and pick up a set of the travel bottles (avoid boots there expensive) and then decant some of my shampoo etc into the bottles :).
- Again think about you weight limit don't buy massive bottles of shower gel then get home and realise you have to leaving because it weighs far too much.

Any tips you have to share?

Much Love,
Daisy

Today...

I did plan to blog today but its half 12 at night now I've finally sat down and I have very little inspiration left so I thought I'd just fill you in on how my day went...

9am  -Woke up and got ready for the day.

10am - Picked up the lovely Mr who puts up with me :).

11am - Got 2 new tyres fitted to my lovely Chloe Clio.

12am - Made the other half have McDonald's because I was dying for a wee and its rude to just use somewheres toilet and not buy anything.

1pm - Argued with the bank! Transferred £60 online and it went from my account but never arrived at the other end and the bank don't know where it is! Excellent!

2pm - Watched a friend have her foot tattooed, she said it was painful and wouldn't recommend it. I had a tattoo re-coloured a little more painful then the first time round!

5pm - Ate burger king mini pancakes! YUM

6pm - Napped, having serious sleep issues!

8pm - Woke up starving and ate yummy pasta bake!

10pm - Caught up on soaps.

Now - About to watch Hollyoaks then off to try and correct my sleep pattern!

A little boring post I know but I promise new blogs soon :)
There's alot going off in my personal life this week so I may be a little MIA but not for too long.
I have lots planned for when things start to get back to normal :)

How was your day?
I will leave you with 2 quotes...

Much Love,

GlossyBox Arrived :)

Well after my rant last night I was awoken this morning to a courier knocking on my door with my first Glossy Box in her hand :).
(I will point out I still haven't heard back from them in response to my emails).

I shall dive straight into it as I am quite excited!
I didn't receive the hd brow pallet however I wasn't really bothered about it as they don't match your first box to your beauty profile and I could have ended up with any old colour and being blond that would have been a waste for me.
OK so as everyone on youtube says the packaging is lovely and is very good quality (not at all flimsy) and is now looking very nice on my desk/coffee table housing all the products i want to try out and review :).

A little overview of what was in my box.
This box was the festival box and says it "will get you festival glam in an instant"
I am a festival lover and last year attended Leeds Fest and V Fest :) however this year I am not attended any festivals! Next year though it is the one and only GLASTONBURY :)! HELL YEAHHH!

Anyway back to the box...

Kryolan Satin Powder 3g
"extraordinary shimmer effect eye make up"
I really like this and the colour I got is very wearable and I have been wearing it all day.
I'm going to keep wearing it over the weekend and do swatches and a review for you next week so look out for that.
This is actually full size and has a value of £4.75 for 3g.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting 15ml
"A multi functional cream gloss"
GlossyBox say you can use this as a lip tint or on cheeks for a "luminous glow"
I have used this on my lips and really like it I doubt I'll repurchase as its £10.00 for 15ml (a 2nd full size in my box :) way to go GlossyBox) and its got a really artificial taste to it. I cant see how it will work as a cheek product but I'll give it a whirl :).

Awapuhi Wild Ginger Texturising Sea Spray 25ml
I was very excited to see this in my box as I've been wanting to try a salt spray for a while.
I tried this this morning and love it so far!
Expect a review shortly :).
£18.95 for 150ml I will seriously consider repurchasing if this continues to impress me!

MONU Extra Rich Night Cream
I've not had chance to use this yet and I don't have it to hand to tell you the exact size of the sample but it is a pretty decent size and I am looking forward to trying it out.
However even if it is amaze balls I doubt I'll repurchase at £36.95 50ml
Although with the code GLOSSY1 you can get 10% off.

Collin Resultime Regenerating Collagen Gel
I'm not overly sure what this does. Any ideas comment below please :)
It says I can use it as a sleep mask so I'll give it a shot.
Again at £47.25 for 50ml I wont be repurchasing unless it gives me the most perfect skin in the world!

The last thing was a Bonus sample of Elizabeth Arden's Visible Difference Skin Balancing Line.
I'll probably pass this on to my mum as I'm very happy with my simple skin care and don't want to upset my skin again.

I do think GlossyBox redeemed them selves from the ignorance of ignoring my questions and emails! But I still think they should treat customers better.

Do you guys get GlossyBox, if so what did you get?

Much Love,
Daisy

Fashion: British Summer

According to my phone today's weather should be sunny with clouds and 21 degrees. Lets see how that turns out shall we? I mean It's August I should be able to enjoy the summer evenings with a nice glass of white wine in my garden. Instead I'm drinking cups of tea and curling up under the throw on the sofa! I am really not impressed England!
So while we wait for England to turn itself around weather wise I thought I'd do some posts on outfits I would wear in this lovely British summer we are enjoying *sarcasm*.

I found everything on H&M's website (here) as I wanted to make it an affordable outfit!

Shirt £24.99
I like that this shirt is floaty and would be really cool on the warmer days.

Jeans £14.99
I am loving the coloured jeans trend and these are an absolute bargain!

Bag £12.99
I really like how this bag would tie the colour of the top and the jeans together!

Bracelets £3.99
I stack bracelets all the time and think these have a really bright fun edge to them :).

Shoes £7.99
I live in ballet flats and I think these are so feminine and cute!

What have you been wearing on these warm but rainy days?

Much Love,
Daisy

Glossy Box Update

Hey Guys,
I'm not one for complaining to companies but after reading A Thrifty Mrs post on complaining about service... here.
I realised that you shouldn't be scared to complain! If you spending your hard earned money with a company you should definitely complain if the service isn't up to scratch!

As you all know I recently subscribed to Glossy Box. My initial subscription was on the 29th of July and a payment was taken straight away from my boyfriends bank account (isn't he lovely letting me have this little box of goodies every month!) so unsure whether or not I would receive the July box I emailed asking them, just so I could help my boyfriend keep a track of his money each month. I haven't received an answer to my email or a box. Then yesterday morning I received another email saying Augusts payment had been successful. So 2 payments have gone out and no boxes have arrived I emailed again straight away and had no reply! I've tweeted GlossyBoxUK and also wrote on there facebook wall and had no reply from them.
I cant find any info on the FAQ section of there website and quite honestly I find it pretty bad that people email then and in the space of 5 days cant find time to reply! there quick enough to confirm my payments have been taken successfully!

I really hope GlossyBox get this sorted and redeem there selves as I was really looking forward to blogging good things for you!

Much Love,
Daisy

A little bit more about me...

Hello there :)

I was flicking through my blog posts so far and realised I haven't really told you much about me. So here it goes :).

I'm Daisy as you already know. I am 20 years old and still live at home with my Momma :). I have a lovely boyfriend who is just a little bit super duper and slowly but surely we're saving up for our own place.
I drive a beat up Clio called Chloe :).
(If you don't name your car your not normal!)
I have studied Fashion and Clothing for 2 years at college and at the moment I'm applying to do a part time hairdressing course :) so fingers crossed eyyy :).
I live up North in sunny ol' Yorkshire :) and I feel quite lucky to be surrounded by lovely countryside:).
I have many life ambitions, I want to travel so far I've been out of Europe twice (I know not much of a traveller ey) to America and India but boy have I got the travelling bug. Someone once told me "travel is the best form of education" and after 2 weeks in Goa, India I couldn't agree more.
I want to jump out of a plane for charity (cancer research, in memory of my Dad).
I want to walk over Sydney Harbour Bridge!
I want to go scuba diving in Australia!
I want to cuddle a Koala and pet a Kangaroo!
And that's just to name a few!

Hmmm... what else can I tell you :/... I have an older Brother who is getting married next year :) eeeeeep!
I have never been to London which makes me sad!
Ohhh I am dying to go to Glastonbury next year and I have been on an Elephant ride followed by an Elephant Wash :).

I'm running out of things to tell you with out boring you so I will leave you with this little quote I love :).

Holiday Tips - Airline Restrictions

Hi Guys,

OK, so over the past few years we've seen the introduction of extra airport security. This includes the dreaded plastic bag which we have to cram as many of our much needed beauty products and liquids in!
So here is how I deal with it.
I usually buy the bags out of the machines at airports I believe the one I'm using at the moment was £1 for 2 (I did however notice at Gatwick they give them out free why you no do this small northern airlines?) the one below is about to embark on its 3rd holiday! I try to get as many uses out of 1 as I can :).
(Please excuse the bad picture quality in this lovely British summer we're having I'm finding it hard to get the lighting right.)
As it says on the bag its contents individually can be a max of 100ml or 100g.
I try and be as strict as I possible can with what I take with me just because after flying I know I'm not going to be putting on a full face of make up.
(so sorry for the horrendous pictures:( ughhh!)

So the most important thing I put in here is my Garnier Sun Protection Lip Care in SPF 20 the last thing you want when you get to your resort is to find your burnt already! Also it's very important to protect your lips from UV rays, they can burn just the same as the rest of your skin!

Next thing is lip balms, I find the air con on planes very drying so I like to keep my lips hydrated and un-chapped (not sure that's even a word).
Here I have:
-Himalaya Lip Balm
-MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Fuchsia Fix SPF 15 (just in case I want a pop of colour)

Skin care:
- OLAY Complete Care Day UV cream SPF 15 for normal/dry skin (keep my skin hydrated and contains SPF so I don't have to worry about my face burning whilst waiting for my transfer)
-Simple Kind to Skin Facial Toner (decanted into purple spray bottle keeps my skin feeling fresh during flight also nice to spritz on after a mid flight snooze)
- Cotton Pads (just in case I want to wipe my toner on rather than spritz)

Makeup:
- MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation NC15 (potted into an old fluid line pot)
- Garnier anti dark circle eye roll on in light (wakes up eyes instantly LOVE)
- Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara

Extras:
-Halo Deodorant Wipes (handy to freshen up as your not allowed aerosols in your hand luggage!)
-Himalaya Tagara (herbal relaxant to help me sleep on long haul flights)

That's all I really take in my hand luggage beauty product wise.
What do you guys cram into those little bags?

Much Love,
Daisy
